Angus Millar has lived in Glasgow since moving to the city to study, having previously worked in the city for a number of years. First elected in May 2016, he represents Glasgow City Centre and the nearby Anderston, Finnieston and Yorkhill areas as one of four councillors for the Anderston/City/Yorkhill ward.
Angus is currently Glasgow City Council's Depute City Convener for Economic Growth, working alongside Cllr Susan Aitken who leads on the inclusive economic growth agenda for the city. In this role, Angus works across the city's Economic Development portfolio, with a particular focus on employability and business support, and also serves as the council's Digital Champion and Chair of the Digital Glasgow Board. In addition, he chairs the council's arms-length employability charity, Jobs and Business Glasgow, as well as the council's arms-length commercial property company, City Property LLP.
Angus is passionate about promoting equalities and inclusive economic growth, protecting the city's rich cultural and built heritage, and supporting the growth of vibrant and mixed communities including in Glasgow City Centre.
