Dr Kami Vaniea is a Lecturer in Cyber Security and Privacy in the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh. Her work is in the area of human factors of security and privacy with an emphasis on technical support groups such as system administrators, developers, and front-line help staff. She heads the Technology Usability Lab In Privacy and Security (TULIPS), with current projects including: managing phishing, barriers to software update installation, making safe online choices, and helping app designers more easily make secure choices. She is also the Assistant Director for Edinburgh University's Academic Center of Excellence in Cyber Security Research.
