Fiona is Service Design Lead in the Social Security Directorate, part of Scottish Government working on the development and delivery of benefits that have been devolved to Scotland. She joined Scottish Government in 2018, as the only service designer in Social Security Directorate, initially working on the development of Best Start Grant. Fiona took a lead role as the programme of work scaled, and has grown the service design team to match – the team is set to reach 25 service designers in 2021.
Fiona previously worked with Skills Development Scotland, developing work-based learning products for young people in the senior phase of secondary school, and worked on the national launch of Graduate Apprenticeships.
