Mark Walters - Telecoms, Director - Lambert Smith Hampton
Lambert Smith Hampton is a leading UK commercial property, planning, development and regeneration consultancy that is at the forefront of advising on the transformation of town and city centres across the UK. From initial visioning and masterplanning, through to regeneration and asset management we know how to create successful, viable and sustainable centres and places. But our traditional towns and high streets are facing uncertain futures. Based on recent research LSH have carried out with Revo entitled ‘Fixing our Broken Town Centres’, Dr Steven Norris (LSH’s national head of Planning, Development and Regeneration) will present some thoughts on what can be done to reverse the decline of the UK’s Town Centres, and how local planning authorities will have an increasingly critical role to play in first saving and then managing our towns and high streets. Mark Walters (LSH’s Telecoms Director) will provide further insight on how telecoms infrastructure can help create stronger, smarter towns and cities that will enable more people to “live locally, but work globally” due to faster digital connectivity. The economic, physical and digital transformation of our towns and cities is probably one of the greatest challenges of the 21st Century, and will go some way to creating more sustainable, carbon-neutral places that can be enjoyed by future generations
